DOHA BANK SUPPORTS ARAB ACADEMY
Mr. R. Seetharaman, Group - Chief Executive Officer, Doha Bank received a certificate of appreciation from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Services in Jordan. Ms. Randa Rabie, Asst. President of the Arab Academy handed over the certificate to Mr. R. Seetharaman and thanked H.E. the Chairman and board members of Doha Bank for their continuous support for the Academy for development of banking sector knowledge base in the region. The bank has contributed with the cost of building lecture room in the ground floor of the Arab Academy’s new building. This room will be permanently registered in Doha Bank’s name, as an acknowledgement of the support.
It is noteworthy that Doha Bank has always been keen to support institutional efforts in the region that contribute in knowledge dissemination.
Doha Bank has been consistently bagging various awards and accolades since 2003 from various financial sector specialists. It has been recently adjudged as 'Best Commercial Bank' in the Middle East for the year 2007 by the 'The Banker Middle East' Magazine and “Best Bank in Qatar” by London based World Finance magazine. Doha Islamic, the Islamic banking window of Doha Bank has bagged the award for the “Best Islamic Corporate Finance” in the Middle East for 2007 in the Islamic Business and Finance Middle East award-2007.
The Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Services provides a comprehensive range of activities in the fields of education, training, research, consultancy and publication. It was founded in 1988 with its head office in Amman - Jordan. Now it has branches in Cairo, Damascus, Sana’a and Muscat, in addition to two training institutes in Amman and Cairo and training branches in Beirut, Sana’a, Damascus, Muscat and Tripoli. The Academy also offers training programs and courses through distance education and grants the relevant certificates.
