Doha Bank Bags the ‘Best Internet Banking Award’

Doha Bank has bagged the “Best Internet Banking award” in the Middle East for 2008. This was announced in the Banker Middle East Product awards – 2008, held on January 29th, 2008 in a glittering ceremony that took place in Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai. The award validates the pioneering role of Doha Bank in deploying consumer centric technology enabled solutions in Qatar. Doha Bank has always been a pioneer in introducing new concepts and technology in Qatar. It was the first Bank to introduce conveniences such as SMS Banking, comprehensive Internet banking, Mobile branches, real time straight through processing e-remittance services etc. Doha Bank Internet Banking suit of services - for retail as well as corporate customers consists of a comprehensive set of online and request based processing. Mr. R. Seetharaman, Group - Chief Executive Officer, expressed happiness and said the award reflects the leadership and pioneering position of Doha Bank in deploying consumer centric solutions and reiterated his commitment to maintain the same. Moreover, Doha Bank provided the first instant redemption loyalty programme last year based on the electronic chip technology and through its point of sale devices available at prime merchant locations allowing our cardholders to exchange their loyalty points into direct purchases of any desired item from household, cosmetics, travel etc. Another unique e-commerce service was launched in both Qatar and UAE through Doha Souq and Dubai Souq online shopping portals.

This e-mall concept is the first of its kind in the whole region providing more convenience to customers by shopping on-line and bringing more business to merchants by selling their products. Doha Bank has been consistently bagging various awards and accolades since 2003 from various financial sector specialists.
