E-REMITTANCE TO NEPAL VIA DOHA BANK

In an age where remittance via demand drafts has become obsolete, Doha Bank has gone one step further in facilitating remittance through electronic channels for Nepalese in Qatar. An agreement to this effect was signed at Doha Bank Head Office by Mr. R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank and Mr. Prithvi Raj Ligal, Chairman of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank, (NCC Bank) Nepal.

Mr Ratna Raj Bajracharya, CEO of NCC Bank was also present at the signing ceremony along with the other officials from Doha Bank.

Mr. R. Seetharaman said these arrangements will be of immense value to the Nepalese nationals working and living in Qatar, to remit money to Nepal. These facilities will be available through internet also and customers will be able to remit money online in a safe, secured and fast mode.

Mr Prithvi Raj Ligal, Chairman of NCC Bank and Mr Ratna Raj Bajracharya, CEO of NCC Bank expressed happiness over the tie-up and said that this tie-up will benefit the Nepalese Community to meet all their banking requirements in Qatar and also remittance of money to Nepal through Doha Bank.

Mr R Ganesan, Executive Manager – International Banking Division, highlighted that Doha Bank offers remittance facility to many countries like India, Egypt, Philippines, Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan, Yemen, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka along with Nepal. This is the most convenient and an ‘instant’ mode of remittance for expatriate community living in Qatar.
