AJYAL - The First of it's Kind Young Savers Account in Qatar

The most awaited launch of Doha Islamic’s “Ajyal” Young Savers Account the first of its kind Young savers account in Qatar was finally held at Hyatt Plaza on Thursday the 17th of January 2010. The event was attended by esteemed customers of Doha Islamic, Doha bank Senior Management & Hyatt plaza & Kiddy Zone management.

The event opened with the presentation of the Ajyal card to the audience. The card was presented by Mr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Yousuf Obaidan Fakhro, Vice Chairman of Doha Bank, Mr. R. Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank, Mr. Nael Zahi El Zagha, Executive Manager - Doha Islamic & Mr. Yousuf Hashim Al Yousuf, Executive Manager - Doha Islamic.

“In the recent years Doha Islamic has been striving to increase its product base by introducing innovative products with new features introduced to the Islamic Qatari Market.” Said Mr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Yousuf Obaidan Fakhroo, Vice Chairman – Doha Bank.

The launch included entertainment for the kids which was in the form of a Magic Show and a small play presented by students of Omar Bin Khatab School. A brief of the Ajyal product was presented to the audience describing the main features and services that are obtainable through Ajyal.

“Every bank has a young savers account but no one has an Ajyal Young savers account” announced Mr. Nael Zahi El Zagha, Executive Manager Doha Islamic. “Children are the future they are the new generation, they are Ajyal, and through Ajyal we intend to cultivate a savings habit in them”, he concluded.

When opening an Ajyal account, the young account holder will get a free welcome gift. In addition, if he maintains an average of QR 5000 quarterly a special gift with card will be sent to the young account holder during special occasions. Every year in August a school kit will be distributed to Ajyal account holders who had maintained an average of QR 2,000 quarterly. Moreover, Ajyal account holders will get an Ajyal Privilege card which will give them special privileges in many stores around Qatar. There will be a quarterly draw held where the account holders can win the following: 1st prize a brand new Kids bedroom, 2nd prize a brand new Laptop, 3rd prize a Nintendo wii, 4th and 5th prizes QR 1000 voucher to be spent in one of the toy stores in Qatar. The minimum amount to enter the draw is QR 500 and the chances are doubled if QR 20,000 or more is maintained. Profits will also be distributed to the Ajyal account on Quarterly basis.
