Doha Bank signed an agreement with Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietin Bank), Vietnam, the largest commercial bank in Vietnam for E Remittance banking services. The Agreement was signed on 08th March, 2009 at Qatar - Vietnam Business Forum at Four Seasons Hotel, Doha by Mr. Douglas Neilson, Asst General Manager of Doha Bank and Dr. Pham Huy Hung, Chairman of Vietin Bank.
Qatar - Vietnam Business forum was arranged by Qatar Chamber of Commerce along with Embassy of Vietnam in Qatar on the occasion of the visit of H. E. Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The signing ceremony of E Remittance Agreement between Doha Bank and Vietin Bank was witnessed by H. E. Ngujen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of Vietnam and Mr Mohammed Bin Towar al Kuwari, Executive Committee Member, Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Earlier in the day Mr. R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank Group met the Chairman of Vietin Bank Dr Pham Huy Hung and his team.. He said that the bank's associations with Vietin Bank has enlarged the capability of Doha bank to serve Vietnamese community in Qatar in line with the bank's existing services to other nationalities.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony Mr. Douglas Neilson said that Doha Bank is committed to serve the expatriate community from Vietnam and this tie up will facilitate the Vietnamese Expatriates community in Qatar to remit money from Qatar to their home country Vietnam.
Dr. Pham Huy Hung, Chairman of VietinBank expressed happiness over the tie-up and he said that this tie-up will benefit the Vietnamese Community to meet all their banking requirements in Qatar and also remittance of money back home to Vietnam through Doha Bank.
Mr. R Ganesan, Executive Manager - International Banking Division was present on the occasion and highlighted that Doha Bank has a large network of branches in the State of Qatar, and this arrangement will benefit the customers to avail remittance facilities through its network of branches.
