Doha Bank’s Leadership in Global Electronic Payments wins Prestigious Award

Citibank’s award recognition of exceptional service by the bank
Doha Bank has been awarded the prestigious Citi Performance Excellence Award for leadership and excellence in global electronic payments.
The Award is an accolade not just for Doha Bank’s state-of-the-art innovative systems and services which have set is apart as a market leader in Qatar but also for consistently meeting stringent international standards.

The award was presented in a special ceremony by Citibank’s Mr. Steve Donovan, Global Transaction Services (GTS) Head of M.E & Pakistan, along with Mr. Mohsin Almahdi, Director of GTS Bank Services Group, to Doha Bank’s Mr. Chris Fellner, AGM International Banking, Mr. Anil Kavilla Veedu Baby, Head of Foreign Remittance, Mr. Gerard Terence Fitzgerald, Head of Technology and Operations and Mr. Rohantha Aruna Fernando, Head of Operations.
Mr. Fellner commented that the award is important in different ways: “It is good for our staff in the remittance department as it is a recognition of excellent service and work done. It is a motivation to continue to provide world class service. It is good for our customers as it underscores and reinforces our credibility – that they can rely on our payment services to be fast and efficient with funds reaching the counterparty as quickly as possible (payments from / to our customers). It is good for Doha Bank as an institution as we continue our efforts to enhance operative and technological leadership also shown in other activities such as our new launched website, the Doha Sooq e-tailing site .”
Mr. Steve Donovan added, “We are working closely with top financial institutions in Qatar, such as Doha bank, to raise the bar in banking technology within the country and across the region. Banks with outstanding efficiency levels in the domain of electronic payment deserve recognition as they contribute to the industry’s rapid progress.”
